Written in Victorian England in the mid-1800s, this fascinating and cruel family chronicle is now without question regarded as a classic of English literature. The tensed and gruesome tale bathed in eerie mysticism deals with devotion and dependance, sadism and masochism; it covers half-a-century’s time during which the ramifications of sickening passion, love and hate, and resentment seem to corrupt and chill even the warmest of hearts to death.

Jens Heuwinkel accepted the challenge to bring this larger-than-life story onto our stage, resting trustfully the characters within the hands of native English speakers.
